The UK government recently passed the ZEV Mandate and as the Net Zero deadline approaches, 2024 is set to highlight an exciting lineup of new electric vehicles. According to data from ZapMap<\/b><\/a>, \u2018nearly 315,000 battery-electric cars were registered in 2023,\u2019 revealing \u2018a growth of 18% on the number registered in 2022.\u2018 Towards the end of December 2023, the UK also reached \u2018<\/b>53,906 electric vehicle charging points across the UK<\/b><\/a>\u2019<\/b> leading us toward a greener and more sustainable future.<\/p>\n

As electric vehicle sales rise and new technologies such as wireless EV charging are being tested, 2024 is set to be an exciting year for the EV industry.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Here are five exciting new electric vehicles coming to the UK in 2024:<\/p>\n

1. Mini Cooper<\/b><\/h4>\n

The new all-electric Mini Cooper<\/b><\/a> is the next generation electric Mini that is set to replace the existing model and will be available as two different models – the E and the SE. Mini Cooper\u2019s E edition will come with a 40.7kWh battery, providing a range of up to 190 miles, whereas the Mini Cooper SE will come with a 54.2kWh battery capacity, providing a range up to 250 miles from a single charge.<\/p>\n

The new electric Mini includes features such as: a minimalistic and sleek exterior, circular LED headlights, recycled aluminium alloys, triangular rear lights, the world\u2019s first circular OLED display, recycled textile interior seats, and driver assistance technology.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Orders of the new Mini Cooper are expected to be delivered in the UK this Spring.<\/p>\n

2. Ford Explorer<\/b><\/h4>\n

The new Ford Explorer<\/b><\/a> is an all-electric SUV that\u2019s built for adventures and comes in select and premium models. The Explorer will come with a choice of either a 52kWh battery, providing a range of up to 220 miles, or a 77kWh battery providing a range of 335 miles from a single charge.<\/p>\n

The new electric Explorer includes features such as a 14.6-inch adjustable touchscreen, 17L MegaConsole central storage, advanced driver assistance technology, Sensico seating with massage and memory functions, smartphone integration, and rapid charging within 15 minutes. The Ford Explorer is expected to be available in the UK this Summer.<\/p>\n

3. Range Rover all-electric<\/b><\/h4>\n

The new electric Range Rover<\/b><\/a> from Jaguar Land Rover will be their first luxury all-electric SUV and is set to be a popular vehicle for on and off-road journeys.<\/p>\n

The features of the Land Rover EV are still relatively unknown, however Auto Express<\/b><\/a> has predicted a\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0’10-80% charge to be possible in under 30 minutes \u2013 even for a battery of 100kWh or more.\u2019 The electric Range Rover is estimated to be made available in the UK later this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

4. Lotus Emeya<\/b><\/h4>\n

The new all-electric\u00a0Lotus Emeya<\/b><\/a>\u00a0Hyper-GT will be the third electric vehicle under the Lotus brand and is set to rival the Porsche Taycan.\u00a0The Lotus Emeya will come with a 102kWh battery capacity, providing an estimated WLTP range between 304 and 373 miles from a single charge.<\/p>\n

The Emeya will include features such as an acceleration speed of 0-62mph in under 2.8 seconds, rapid charging compatibility with up to an 80% charge in only 15 minutes, a Dolby 3D sound system, a 55-inch augmented reality display, infotainment system, and driver assistance.<\/p>\n

Production of the Emeya is set to begin at the beginning of this year, with UK deliveries estimated by the end of 2024.<\/p>\n

5. MG Cyberster<\/b><\/h4>\n

The new sporty electric MG Cyberster<\/b><\/a> is the new all-electric powered two-seater soft-top convertible from MG. The electric Cyberster is expected to provide an estimated range of up to 500 miles.<\/p>\n

The Cyberster will include features such as a rear LED light bar, a 0-62mph acceleration speed of under 3 seconds, rapid charging capability, an interactive gaming cockpit, 5G connectivity, \u2018Magic Eye\u2019 headlights, and LED door strips.<\/p>\n

The Cyberster Sports is expected to go on sale in the UK around August this year.<\/p>\n
